Faith and Doctrine
THE TRINITY – The Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each Person being equal, yet there being not three gods, but one. (Gen. 1:1; John 10:30, John 4:24.)
VERBAL INSPIRATION –The verbal inspiration and plenary authority of both Old and New Testament (II Tim. 3:16,17)
TOTAL DEPRAVITY – The depravity and lost condition of all men by nature. (Rom. 3:19)
PERSONALITY OF SATAN – The personality of Satan. (Job 1:6-7)
VIRGIN BIRTH – The virgin birth and deity of Jesus Christ our Lord. (Luke 1:35)
BLOOD ATONEMENT – The shed blood of Jesus Christ, the only atonement for sins. (Rom. 3:25)
RESURRECTION – The bodily resurrection and Lordship of Jesus, and the resurrection of the saved to life, and the lost to condemnation. (Acts 2:32; Rom. 1:4)
JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH – Men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Acts 13:38-39)
PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – The Holy Spirit is a Person who convicts the world of sin, and regenerates, indwells, enlightens, and empowers the saved. (John 16:8; I Cor. 3:16)
ETERNAL SECURITY – The eternal security and assurance of all saved. (John 10: 28-29)
SPIRITUAL GIFTS – The gifts of evangelists, pastors, and teachers, (Eph. 4:7-12) are sufficient for the perfecting of the Church today. Sign-gifts including tongues, gradually disappeared as the canon of Scripture was completed and the authority of the Bible generally recognized. But God being Sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts, does hear and answer the prayer of faith according to His own will for the sick and afflicted.
THE CHURCH – The saved in this dispensation are members of the body of Christ, the Church. (I Cor. 12:12-13)
SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD – All the saved are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices. (James 4:4; Rom. 12:2; I John 2:16; II Cor. 6:14)
TWO NATURES – That those born again possess two natures and that they may be victorious over the old through the power of the new, but that the eradication of the old is unscriptural.
(Rom. 6:13; 8:12-13; Gal. 5:16-25; Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:10; I Pet. 1:14-16; I John 3:5-9)
MISSIONS – The obligation of the saved to witness by life and word to these truths and to proclaim the Gospel to all the world. (Acts 1:8)
THE ETERNAL STATE – The eternal conscious punishment of every unsaved person. (Matt. 25:46; Rev. 22:11) and the eternal felicity of every saved person. (John 14:16; Phil. 3:20)
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST – The personal, pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Acts 1:11; I Thess. 4:16-17)
DISPENSATIONALISM – We accept the broad dispensational view of Bible interpretation but reject the extreme teaching known as “Hyper Dispensationalism” such as, that teaching which opposes either the Lord’s table or water baptism as a Scriptural means of testimony for the Church in this age.
(Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 18:8; I Cor. 11:23-26)
